I wanted to quarterback the Denver Broncos.

Instead, I’ve worked as a community newspaper reporter, an audio journalist, a web content editor, and a GED teacher for people experiencing homelessness.

Comics writer

I write comics to inspire richer, kinder, and more inclusive imaginations. That means creating stories where audiences of all ages can find themselves and all things that matter on screen/page.

UX writer and content designer

I started my professional career writing for a daily newspaper, a weekly business journal, and several online music magazines.  

Since focusing on content design, I’ve shaped online content experiences for some amazing clients like Foot Locker, Walgreens, Sears, Humana, Zebra Technologies, and the American Hospital Association.

Tidbits

I snapped a board with my forehead during my black belt exam, finished a marathon (barely), and won a Smiths/Morrissey karaoke contest.

These days, I buy too many Criterion Blu-ray discs. I walk the streets of Chicago way too fast, but I’ll stop to flip a penny to the heads position. Why? To give a stranger good luck.

And I still cheer for the Broncos to this day.
